Mountain Biking - mtb videos

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

That is some crazy riding man. Do any of you ride HT's? We dont have trails like that here in vegas. Most of ours is gravel. Not many drops, mud, trees. If what I just saw is considered downhill, I doubt Ill be riding downhill anytime soon.

Fear, stumping block ummm...thing that worries me the most. When I get on a skinny I look at my front tire or the ground and loose balance. It is my bane...:)

Okay, I'll make sure I get everything here... :)
troie: We have many HT riders.. not many in the DH group though. If you download the video "The Dump" there is some footage of Mr. Potato who is a hardcore HT'er. Most ride either Planet-X or 24 Cycle frames... very nice, very capible bikes!
Maelstrom: Bromont has these little karts that you sit in and ride down that luge course on.. which makes great jumps for the rest of us!! :) Oh, and that first crash in BC Bound, that footage was shot in North Bay.. not sure how it got in there.. oops.. it was supposed to be footage for "Faster than the World" my favourite movie on the site.
Thanks for the comments.. we're always getting new footage, and as we improve in riding, the vids will get better!

Joe, in the huckmeister2 vid, are all those bikes mtb's? Kinda hard to imagine a young kid hucking with a 30lb bike. Also, that one vid with the guy and his yellow bike, is that an mtb, kinda hard to tell.

Troie,
If I hafd a camera I could show you what little kids do with an adult bike. One kid (maybe 10 or a TINY 13 year old) has a 15" kona stuff. I am sure the parents bought it for him to grow into. Anyways this kid can do 10 ft step ups going 50 km an hour , mid step up he does a no footed one hander. I can name countless examples of little kids here riding their bkes hard. Just go to pinkbike they may tell tall tales but some of thos kids go pretty big :)

How is the riding getting in Ontario now? I am always considering a move (cheaper living) but don't want to sacrifice the endless supply of intermediate to advanced trails we have here.
Mael, im impressed. I have a 20" frame so I think some of that stuff would be difficult for me.

Trust me I feel the same way. He defies all the laws of bike fit. Really proves that you can still ride even with a really poor fit :)

Maelstrom: Stay out West!!! Ontario/Quebec are working on some stuff, but we're years behind you guys... :(
troie: Those kids are all on Mountain Bikes... crazy stuff eh? If I were to try those drops on my XC rig, I'd be walking home with a bag of parts! Oh well, enjoy being light while you got it eh?
