Can't tell yet up here in the Bay Area. I do see tree leaves moving. I'll be able to tell in 3 hours on the evening ride.

Just got back from lunch in Montrose and it was wicked windy! A large potted plant was blown over right outside the restaurant window!

I am hoping this dies down before the Mulholland Century on Saturday. Could make a difficult day on the saddle more interesting. The forecast calls for high winds through Friday – let’s hope it is correct.

Yes, and I hope it doesn't hit Hemet on Saturday. It would make that ride miserable (or interesting if you'd like:p ).

Holy cow!!! I just got out of the gym and debris was flying everywhere!
I was pelted by little rocks walking out to the parking lot. I hope it dies down by tomorrow morning... I was hoping to ride in the hills...

(It wasn't too windy here only an hour ago... I was making plans with my riding buddies and it didn't even come up)

I was just told that a branch from a tree was blown into the back of my truck (took up the whole back of my truck!!!). It's gonna be windy, but in two hours, we ride.

Wind is kicking today (35+mph), been dodging falling and littered palm tree branches all over the place and there is a big brush fire in the Beverly Glen Area. My building switched over to generator power early this morning...spot power outages being reported throughout the city.

We just drove in from Palm Springs. It's screaming out there with so much dust and blowing sand that visibility is reduced a bunch. It's almost like twilight. We bailed out of the pool because the sand was hurting our eyes when we sat around. On the return trip, I put my bike in the back of the van instead of the rack because I didn't want all the grit in the gears or having my frame paint sandblasted.

We hit rain on the way home for quite a while through San Bernardino.

Here in Agoura, the wind is sitting down finally and only comes in gusts.

Maybe we can get an afterwork ride together someday soon.
Any ideas?

Latest forcast for Saturday is partly cloudy, high 75, low 49. Wind is supposed to kick back up on Sunday--hope they're right for a change. :)

I'm leaving in a couple of minutes to ride with my buddies on the SART, we do this on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays . All welcome, we meet at the fire training center on Rampart next to the Stadium at 5:00 and go to Featherly and back. We're holding a mid 19 MPH average right now.

See ya.

I live in Orange... but often work from home.

Wind was bad earlier this afternoon, but seems to have died down within the last hour. Off to ride!

I didn't go riding because of all the crap I could see in the air. My work looks out over Bake pkwy towards irvine and laguna wood, laguna hills and laguna beach... I could hardly see the hills in laguna. Decided riding for the first time in a week wouldn't be a good idea with all that junk in the air.

I thought that I saw your crew heading out to Featherly last week. I'd like to join in at some point.

I'm going drinking with my coworker.;) Okay, not really, just one little glass of wine since I'm riding on Saturday. The gym isn't calling and the wind sucks! I'll be doing a spin in the morning.

I've been hearing this a lot lately and it has certainly been the case with me! I've decided that after this weekend's ride, my butt is back in the gym 4 times a week again, or I can't ride my bike. That'll teach me...:p

Then the trainers grab 2-3-4 sets of dumbells and cart them across the gym for their clients. Then they superset, using all of the dumbells and a couple of machines. Oh well, it's cheap.

Where'd you have lunch? I came through Montrose on my way back from Eagle Rock about noon and stopped at Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf for a cup of joe before heading up Pennsylvania to fight the wind on Foothill.

Hey nygirl777,

I just got back from Vegas with the family. Saw Spamalot last night at the Wynn and we enjoyed it very much.

Left Vegas at about 11:00a. We were walking around at about 9:00a and it was cloudy but calm. The wind seemed to come out of nowhere. The whole drive home was very windy with light sprinkles to moderate showers.

Made it home in one piece though. :)

Is it one of the new Super Sports?

I don't know for sure, but it's $10 more a month, at least during presale. At that price, I figured it was worth it for a couple more gym/class options. If you do decide to upgrade, check to see if the price to go from Active to Super Sport is the same as going from Sport to Super Sport. If it is, discontinue your Sport membership and upgrade directly from Active to Super Sport. It nets me paying $10/month extra versus the $20/month I would have been paying. At that point, it was reasonable.

Hey Cleave

I love the Wynn.........if only I could afford one night :o that place is NICEEEEEEEE.
Did you get a chance to ride while you were out here or did u just do the family thing?.....When those winds pick up on the 15 they are no joke....messes up your gas mileage  but glad you made it home safe........

That's the second time in like 2 weeks my bike light came in handy. Power in my poor bario just came back up after 8 hours of outage.
Anyway, instead of riding this afternoon, I ran 5 miles, for a change......and my knees are killing me now.

Cheap? No, they suck. Sorry, I've got issues with 24 hour, but I joined anyway since they are in my building at work, near my home, etc. I go at the butt crack of dawn typically, and when on schedule, so it's never an issue. Plus, I'm friends with most of the trainers, so they'll give me any dumbell they realistically will not need. :D
