I'm doing a ride this weekend and even though I don't know how to fix a flat, I figure I should be a responsible cyclist and at least carry a spare tube with me. I've got a patch kit, too, but I figure I'm not racing so carrying a spare can't cause any harm. (I intend to learn to fix a flat after the ride, but I don't want to risk flubbing up my wheels right before it. And they only have about 350 miles on them, so they should be okay.)
But I have no idea what tube to buy! My tires are 700x25c. I read that you should use a tube slightly smaller than your tire, but I don't know if tube manufacturers take that into account in their sizing or what.
And then, should I get some sort of thorn-resistant tube? It's a road bike and I stick to the roads... never seen a thorn around here. But certainly shattered glass and plastic and things of that nature.
Thanks for any advice.
