So summers coming and its time To start looking for that summer job and im considering being a bike courier, Any Tips, good employers, places to apply?, its my understanding that many large Dilvery companies have bike couriers on staff, Purolator i know for sure any other places a i should know about? thanks
i forgot to mention i have a place to stay in ottawa, i've heard more money can be made there due to there crap puplic transit and Gridlocked downtown core, how true is that?

The pay is absolutely terrible. Like, if you have to pay rent and save for the following school year, you can forget about it on a couriers pay. Summer time is especially bad because there is an influx of riders. I've had a lot of ****ty paying jobs in my life, but courier takes the cake. I made more money working at Tim Hortons when I was 16.

My first summer job was being a bike courier for a company that made maps a duplicated blueprints in Toronto (we were called delivery boys back then)...it was a lot of fun, I'm now a bike commuter because of it, but you're right, the pay sucks and it was no fun in the rain

As for good companies... some places to try are The Messengers International, United Messengers, PARSS. There are many places to avoid, but the one I heard bashed most often is Cy's a.k.a. Zap (I believe... or was it a.k.a. Leader?).
