This photographer Tim Kolln made a project of photographing bike racers just after they'd crossed the finish line and climbed off their bikes.
These are the hardmen (http://www.timmkoelln.com/racing_cyclists.htm).

not bad photography at all.
Those are some awesome photographs.
These are some great shots, thanks for the link - his other stuff on the site is pretty good stuff. McEwen's got some guns on him, damn.
It's nice to see that they are hurting as bad as I am after a race.
These guys look like they're about to take a swing at somebody.

You want to see suffering: checkl out the Road to Paris.
The segment where Bruyneel is trying to talk strategy to LA during the 2000 Amstel Gold is priceless.
Really captures the grandeur of these beasts.
That’s bike racing! I like fancy high-tech gear as much as anybody, but racing is snot on your gloves, salt on your face, lactic acid everywhere, and hurt on top of pain. Very cool series of photos.
Very creative and well done.
That's how I look after a hard ride: salt/snot all over my face. A little fatter and a lot older of course.
very cool, but that Pozzato guy looks like he's posing for calvin klein
Aldag looks like he's 90!
Cool pics
Awesome photos! Pozatto should model.
I am thankful though, that Rasmussen kept his jersey on and zipped all the way up.
Very cool...the rest of his site is great too....
A few of those pics would go great in my bar...

+1
I remember this one time walking into the school gym with my bike. I thought everyone was looking at how cool I was - only to find out that I had this huge loogie mark across my face :D
THOUGH THEY STAND STILL, THE RACE, IN THIS MOMENT, SEEMS TO CONTINUE ON THEIR FACES.
Immortal words
