View Full Version : How do you feel about my pre/post ride food?

Ok so today before my 25 mile ride I ate the following;

A lentil and rice quesadilla cosisting of,

3/4 cup of lentils and rice
1 tortilla
1/4 cup of soy cheese
2 tsp chile sauce
1 tbsp salsa

About 16 ounces of water

After the ride;

1 banana
1/4 cup granola w/ cashews
2 whole dates
16 ounces of water

Is this good? How could I improve...I am vegan, so if you are not please allow your suggestions vegan friendly! Thanks!

More protein with the carbs after ride. Not sure what vegan-friendly protein to suggest, but maybe more cashews.

Depends on the type of rice really. If your looking to up your protein, I'd say add a 1/2 a cup of chick peas slightly seared w/ jalapenos.

25 miles isn't really a long enough ride imho to worry about adding much more than that. I'd say your shorting yourself a bit on the fluids, but I'm not sure the intensity of your workout nor the temperatures your dealing with.

Here in Texas, mid-summer, I'd probably double the fluids, at a min.
