Classic & Vintage - miyata (yes again-but wait ive got a question!)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Okay so there's the basic Miyata hierarchy from the late 70's on.... 1xx, 2xx etc. and then there's the Team etc. and the Miyata Alumicross which was that strange combo of bonded aluminium and steel- but still top of the line....

Anyone heard of the "ALUMITECH"???

The bike I'm looking into is a 718- so in princple it should be good quality touring...but I'm guessing that its one of those alu-steel crossbreeds..and wondering where that might place it in the hierarchy.

There's a old thread with the miyata heiarchy. Do a search include the name T-mar as he gives up the info.

Yep- I've seen the hierarchy but i dont think the Alumitech model is not included in it which is why I've posted....it seems like it wasnt a very prolific model. I wonder if anyone knows anything about it. I'd appreciate any info!
