Great Lakes - Saturday Ride?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Weather is not going to be great.....maybe mid to upper 40's with clouds....but I have the afternoon free in town and have to at least try to put on 35 miles.
If anyone is interested and wouldn't mind an easy effort....

Looks like rain/snow mix here in SW Ohio, and around 40 degrees. It doesn't look good all weekend for getting out. I'm going to visit my daughter in Florida next week. I'm so looking forward to getting away from this weather. I hope my son-in- law has the bikes ready to ride.

Hip, I would have joined you, but have a new ride and it will need some dialing up, so I will be out riding this afternoon but will have to make few stops to make some adjustments, but still hoping to put a good 35 miles today also, it seems like it will be finally nice to ride again :)

Hey Hip, no it wasn't me, I am riding a Bianchi, I did an easy 20 miles with few stops adjusting saddle and the pedal tension spring. It turned out to be an OK day I guess with the exception of the snow melting water on the oak leaf trail.

Yeah...bike and shoes were a muddy mess when I got back from my 36.
What color Bianchi...I'll have to keep a lookout for you.

Unfortunately after todays ride I found that I am so out of shape :( , otherwise I would join you. Now I am sure I won't be ready for the IL BF ride on the 21st.

Sweet Mother of God Flywolf....pretty!
I need a recovery ride Sunday anyway....I'm not beating anyone's speed door down.
If ya wanna ride with someone, let me know.
As I said, the plan is to go easy for another 35 on Sunday afternoon if you are interested.

Not so fast....I've been amazed at how bad my form has been this year. I put out a tough 40 today with CyLowe and our average was an easy 3-4 mph slower than it would have been on the same route last year.
There will be a pretty widely mixed group on the ride. Some fast, others ...not so much *pointing to self*. Don't let that stop you from coming. If you can crank a 12-13 mph metric then someone will be right along side of you.:D

Hey Psimet, you guys jump off from Tyler Creek F.P. ??? I was stopped next to some guy at a red light looked an awful lot like Cylowe with a blue felt strapped to the back..Isnt he the guy that made fun of you and me driving to that jump off point one day
Hey flywolf, that's one sweet garage door. Too bad that awesome looking bike blocked part of it in the picture :D

Thanks Hip, will positively let you know tomorrow morning but it looks like 98% I will ride tomorrow also, it should be a nice sunny 49 degrees.

As soon as I get my some of my flexibility back.
Today I really enjoyed that K-Wing Carbon Aero handlebar, can't believe how comfortable it was.

Was probably me, but I was heading to the grocery store after the ride, so had a valid reason for driving to the FP...
BTW, I'm not riding on the river trail with Psimet anymore. I have pedal woes like you wouldn't believe when riding with him. Last year is was the Ritchey pedal falling off the spindle. Today it was my cleat cracking in half after I fell over on a steep climb in Crystal Lake. Admittedly, this one was my fault for being stupid and trying to mash up a wall of a hill. Just couldn't mash any more and tipped over. Bang. Broken cleat. I blame Psimet.

Everyone does eventually. I wasn't going to mention anything about the fall...but since you brought it up...it was priceless to watch in slow motion.:D

I did a short, miserable ride in that SW Ohio weather Saturday morning:eek: The headwinds were horrible and the rain felt like needles hitting the face. After 6 miles I turned around and gave it up for the day.
This morning they were predicting winds in the 20-25mph range with gusts up to 40.....that bike won't be going out today:(

That was one of the first things I learned. When in doubt, blame Psmite :D
