I posted this over in mechanics and got pointed here, so hopefully somebody can help...

Hi all, this is my first post so sorry if I've missed something (although I did search). Anyways, I've had a Diamondbak Outlook (I want to say a '97 model) for years now and throughout this entire time I've had problems with the saddle bending on me. Now I'm a big guy, athletic 220lbs, so if I remain seated for even the smaller bumps it puts a lot of stress on the seat (I've used this mostly for city commuting). I was hoping the experts here could direct me towards a strong, heavy duty seat post, preferably with that neat little shock/suspension built in to hopefuly help distribute these stresses a little better as well as a heavy duty saddle that can hold up well. Does anybody have any ideas?

Check out the posts. SOmebody asked recently if there was a solid seatpost sold for the same reason.

I'm no expert by far, but here is a suggestion. If you are riding a road bike, will a mountain bike seat post fit it? MTB's are made to take a ton of punishment and you may get better wear. That is, if wieght isn't a prob, MTB components usually wieght more.

I'm Uber rolling with a Thomson seatpost and a Brooks B67 saddle.

Get a Thomson seatpost from Mike at http://smartbikeparts.com/prod_info.php?prod_id=12&PHPSESSID=ef2a136a7e621b75f70c427a69b62ab1 Excellent service!

+1 on getting a B67 at http://www.wallbike.com/B67.html Nice seat and service :)
