Hi I'm JD, 32 years old, live in Fishkill, NY - 60 miles north of NYC. I'm brand new to the sport of Triathlons / Dualthlons, but I am ready to roll with it. Training for a Sprint Tri in June, just got my bike 2 weeks ago, Cervelo P2C and am now looking to get a better set of wheels for it. Question I have is what wheels, defenitely want Carbon Clinchers are recommended for everyday and race day use?

I have been riding the North County Trail in Westchester County as my riding trail and it is very flat an fast in a few places but a little rough in the Yorktown part of the trail but it is 100% paved and pothole free, so don't think that it will be too hard on the wheels. Looking in the 1000 - 1500 dollar range. (Spinergy, Hed rims or Mavic seem to fit the bill).-- Yeah the expensive bill.

Hello JD, I can't help you with your question (don't have carbon clinchers!), but at least no one will yell at you for not using the search function (it's not working at the moment).

You should check in with the Road Cycling folks, and you might also want to stop and say hi to the locals in the Northeast regional forum.

Welcome to BF!

Welcome to the forum, JD. You are in a most beautiful place. I am originally from NE Connecticut and used to be a delivery driver to an art store in Yorktown. Loved the drive. Many happy miles to you!

Thanks, East Hill & BikeUtah, I love riding the bike in this area, got a Cervelo P2C TT bike so it has to be basically either a wide shoulder road or one of the trails for me as I am totally new to the setup but I have been getting used to it now and can push the bike a bit thats why I think I will need a new wheelset as the stock wheels , Shimano R-500 can't seem to keep up with the stiffness of the bike.
