Hey, my bottom bracket, maybe the cranks, are making a creaking noise everytime i put a large amount of pressure on them. is this just my bottom bracket? i converted a 70's fuji road bike to fixed gear. Is it that the road bikes's original bottom bracket is not meant to be under that pressure?

it's probably your a) cranks or b) chainring isn't tightened properly. tighten those and see what happens.

try stripping down the bottom bracket and re-greasing it all, I just had this problem and after following all the suggestions from people it works fine:

Creak could be anything.
tighten pedals, tighten cranks, tighten chainrings
if no good, then pull BB and reinstall.
worked for me.

degrease and regrease the bb. it probably needs to be cleaned anyways, you'll have to remove the cranks to do it anyways, you can tighten the chainring once they're off anyways, and it's fun to do.
anyways.
