Introductions - Hello from a new Mt. Biking/Transit Enthusiast!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hello, i'm from St. Paul, Minnesota, United States. i'm riding a bike i got at the Goodwill for $5. It is an "Iron Horse" (with no shocks) it is pretty nice for $5 dollars. It's got good 3 piece cranks and it looks like at one time it was a "medium end" :) mountain bike, possibly. It's got straps for the feet and it rides VERY well. i plan on using it for transportation around the cities here and for some rough trail riding.

i used to be a BMX biker but i beat my body up way too much. i ended my biking life when i broke both my arms with a total of 3 broken bones at once along with a stitched up chin. i purchased my current bike two years ago to use as transportation and i live in the cities now and look forward to the warm weather to begin some REAL biking this summer.

i'm happy to find a forum because i don't have any other friends who use bikes to get around and it will be nice to bounce ideas off people and get some tips. Right now i do have a thread open because i had a question. The thread is in the "Bike Mechanic" forum. Here's a link if you think you could help me out with a simple problem: Shifter beyond broken! Hello flipjarg, it sounds as if you've already found your way around the board, so unless I can convince you to stop in the Great Lakes regional forum and say HI!, I'll leave it at

Welcome to BF!

The regional forums always seem hard to find...they are in the same "Community" group as the Introductions.
