I just ordered a Sun Tadpole SX, with fenders, Kwest 100psi tires, struts and bike rack. I also ordered the following:
Arkel Trailrider bag (black)
Protege 9 computer (white)
Mirrycle Mirror
Bell w/compass
Power grips
Polar bottle (red) and cage
also...iriver S10 mp3 player (to use with speakers)
hope to buy soon:
Bell Metropolis helmet
Lock
---
I decided to go with the SX, as I like the color better and can add better components later.

Trike should be in by tomorrow and will be picking it up this coming weekend.
I can't wait! Plan on taking it to a bike path in a large National park soon after, for my first ride.

Thanks! Can you tell I'm excited... It's my first trike, and havn't ridden a bike for close to 10 years. I'm overweight and ready to start triking, dieting and losing weight. I'm worried now that I won't be able to bike much at first because I am out of shape. I'd really hate to only be able to bike 1/2 hour, but I'm sure I'm going to be sore that first week.
Any suggestions for getting started?

Take it easy to begin with. You'll be building up your leg muscles AND your endurance, and that takes a while. Avoid steep hills until you're a stronger rider. Drink lots and lots of water. Take breaks when you need to. Stick to bike trails and deserted roads until you're comfortable in traffic.

Suggestion: click here to review How Not to Get Hit By Cars (http://bikezen.org/safety/). Read and study this seriously. Stay off public roads until you are REALLY comfortable with your new bike. (For me, that was about 1000 miles, but I have a high-racer that is more difficult to balance than a trike!)

Best of luck, and have many happy miles! I like the yellow on the 2005 SX . Seems like the yellow goes faster than the red CX!:)

I wouldn't worry about it Fish.. When I first got my trike I did a few rides on the MTB when I ordered my trike. You'll be doing all the short runs to the store, the park, and the neighborhood... many times a day. You'll be looking for excusses to go to the store... really! 10 1/2 hour rides equals 5 hours of cycling. It is so much easier to rest up on a bent than on a DF.
I find myself hammer in traffic just to stay out of the way or to get past the boring spots... then come up to a small park or trail and just coast. Coasting takes so little energy that you barely notice that you are getting exercise. It's a matter of keeping the blood flowing, not putting a demand on your muscles.
Just be careful with the thrill seeking. Most new trikers will search for the edge of the envelope. And most trikers will find it way before they are ready. I rolled my trike within the first week doing something really stupid but luckily it was at a relatively slow speed. To date, I still hold the brakes on the downhills. Riding on two wheels of the trike is highly over rated... isn't that why you got a trike to begin with? ...to be on three wheels? :p

Speaking of riding a trike on two wheels... see this video (http://www.kmxkarts.co.uk/media/hi-res/KMXone.mpg).
I agree that three seems like the saner approach!
