...it's been raining since Saturday night
...the roads are all flooded or have puddles way to big to ride around
...or they're filled with salt water that you can't ride through
....the ocean's been coming several hundred yards over the beaches since Monday during high tide
...there's seaweed and flotsum and jetsum everywhere...not to mention the boulders and sand
...i've had two baseball games cancelled, and the field is under water and most likely won't drain for a week...
...there are mushrooms in between my toes
...and my hair's a mess
...and my dog hides when i say it's time for a walk
i know i shouldn't complain compared to other things going on in the world...but i thought i'd rant for a just a bit

its crap.
It sucks, but not as bad as the next posters. ;)
LOVING LIFE :) Sorry about all the rain AJC :(
Hi,
I was supposed to fly from Maine to DC for a short vacation Monday. You can guess what happened to that. They shunted me to a late Tues flight, but when we got to the Delta desk he said everything was backed upa nd we wouldn't make a connecting flight. Which means a night of sitting in JFK and then hoping you can get in on standby the next day. Assuming we get to DC sometime Wed, we would be so tired we'd hit the sack after eating. And then we'd have one day in DC and fly home (maybe) on Friday.
Great way to spend a couple grand... Fortunately we got the hotel money back, and the airline has given us credit.
And as much as that sucks, a lot people here got flooded out, are living in motels and wondering how much damage their home suffered. I figure we were lucky, we got most of our money back, we didn't do
a 500 mph swan dive into dirt, and all we got was a messed up yard.

Other than not having god-like powers and the ability to travel in time, pretty good.

Let's see - I live in a tropical paradise - have a beautiful wife who I have been married to for more than 26 years, healthy kids, a great bike, can commute in wonderful weather everyday, fresh tropical fruits and vegetables available for free. People who care for our home and cook for us - nearly 500 acres of reforestation projects to walk and ride in, 6 horses.
Should I continue or will you all send out a hitman if I do?

My life? Nothing short of fabulous at the moment.
Some nights I laugh myself to sleep.

...BS dead end job with an hour at least commute
...moved back with parents last summer and have been hating it ever since
...but my girlfriends got her own place, is making me dinner tonight, then watching LOST with her, and then probably gettin some!
...i am saving huge amounts of money living at home that I will use, hopefully, to buy a house or condo when i get a better job
...and my job is so ridiculously easy that I could sleep through half the day and get more done than everyone else, and this place has flexiible hours so I come and go as I please
Things aren't great, but they could be worse, I'm making decent money in a field I like with the degree i pursued in college. Taking off friday and hopefully get some riding time in before I fly to denver.

he's starving you? the chateau briand last night was a bit ordinary but the broiled asparagus was an excellent pairing and the bananas foster was exquisite. I had a screaming viking during cocktail hour as well. The cucumber was lightly bruised, just like I asked for.

Woody: How'd you like that, Mr. Peterson? Bruised or unbruised?
Normy: Bruised.
Woody: You got it.
And Cheers was once again saved! Hurray!

I can't really complain, either. Although, I can't get him to stop..."seasoning" my steaks.

Yeah, I wish he'd stop that for you, too. It's causing an odor from your cage that is kind of disgusting, yet kind of intriguing. I'll have to sniff some hind end to get a better read on that.
<dangit... he's really got me thinking like a dog now.... >

btw eboo, does your new place allow pets. One of our hobos just had a litter, and we are trying to find homes for them. There is one with oversized boots and mismatched socks and the cutest bandana on a stick you have ever seen.

No :( I'm not allowed to have hobos, or for that matter, the kitten I begrudgingly adopted at Christmas, ended up loving because he's a sadistic, EVIL being, and had to leave behind in Buffalo. With my three hobos. Think pup would let me squeeze them into the kennel?

I hate swallowing bugs on rides. I once got some kind of bug that must have emitted some sort of goo that burned my throat for hours after he went down. I hope that he suffered in my stomach acid.

It rained and snowed in SLC today. Life is pretty good, despite some sadness and loss of a loved one. It seems like forever since I went and did something active. I can't wait until I'm back in the full swing of that...exercising every day, yoga, raw food, kombucha....mmmmm :) Still, I can't complain. Life is really good to me, and I feel lucky to be who I am.

My garage flooded yesterday, and I spent until late last night and most of today cleaning. Taking a break...
Sucks. Sinus infection going on two weeks now, just started a 10-day course of amoxycillin.

Yuck. A lot of that going around here, randya. Between the pollen, mold, and the sicknesses going around, sinus-susceptible people don't have a chance. :(

Pretty good! even though I'm not making much money and don't have better stuffs (like better bikes!)
I'm learning to enjoy the monkish mental state of having very little materialistic desires. I'm currently in the process of sorting and selling off every single items that I don't really need. Tonight is cleaning up time and in the process I will be moving some stuffs around and in breaks I'll be updating the "sell" page on my site. Maybe I'll also take some pictures of my cleaned apartment to show just how little I'm depending on now.
I just wish that somebody would buy my computer within this week so I could take advantage of a deal (for the deaf) to get a free blackberry on a unlimited data plan (I just need to get a extra $100 so I can afford to wait around 2 weeks for the rebate to pay it back). A blackberry would replace most of my needs on the computer and what I cannot do on the blackberry, I'll do it at the library computer lab.
My Sell Page (as of now it is still not updated with the lower price of $300 (down from $500))
<link removed at mod request, please go to the link listed in my signature and click on the "finances" link on the left side. Once there, you should see the link to the sell page on top of the finance page.>
P.S. the site is pretty outdated so if I have time, I'll be updating most of the site once I'm done with the Sell page.
I can walk and I have all my body parts. It's all gravy!;) Till the day I die it's all good!:)

My life is ok, though I miss my husband quite a bit, and wish he could still be sharing it with me. But that's never going to be the case. So, I just keep going. I have a new bike, am making new friends, am about to start socializing again with the old, and I have some personal goals for myself.
All things considered, I'm doing ok. Still healing. My life is different now, and I'm also not quite the same woman I was, but life, yeah, it's ok.
