I had 2 screws placed in my elbow this morning to close the gap between my radial joint & arm. My separated shoulder will heal on its own in time & will require no surgery. As for now I'm off of work until I'm cleared then I have a minimum 2 month restriction on the use of my right arm. I'll know more next week on my follow-up with my orthopedic surgeon. I'm off the bike outdoors wise for 3 months. :( In a few weeks I'm allowed to use an indoor trainer so that is a plus. :)

take care & be safe everyone. :)

That sucks. Get Well Soon! And listen to your doc's and especially your physical therapist.

^^^+1 on above advice. Make sure you do all your required phyical therapy after the cast is off. I didn't and have reduced range of motion in one of my fingers...

also if you have one good arm, exercise it. my orthopedic told me to do that when I dislocated my left shoulder and broke my left scaphoid (wrist) it helps.

+1 on the above, for sure follow your physiotherapy - when I did my left scaphoid in last year, I made damn sure I worked at that after being told by someone who didn't how they lost mobility/range.

Good luck, try to stay sane while out of the saddle ;)

good luck on your physical therapy. maybe you can train your way back onto the bike and be in good shape sooner rather than later. heal well.

Good luck and I hope everything heals up without incident.

Thanks all, I'm feeling much better about my situation now as compared to last week. I do plan on exercising the rest of my body overall through strength training, cardio on my trainer once I buy one & I may even get back to some yoga as well. :) 3 months off the bike I really can't afford to be lazy.
