Road Cycling - Swapped one part out...and took 4 pounds of my bike!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
As some of you may know, I have been riding a "custom" Rock Shox Judy (with fully functional caliper brakes) on my road bike since I first built it up. I finally gave up on the Reynolds Ouzo Pro Lite I had preordered and got an Alpha Q Sub 3. Just wanted to share my excitement-it's like a whole new bike. The Alpha Q even rides better than the Judy. Highly recommend it to anyone in the market for a fork.

You mean you had a suspension fork on your roadbike? Hmm... Its a bit unusual(in cyclocross maybe)..
Anyway, Carbon forks do offer some flex too(similar to suspension forks) and is definitely(a lot) lighter..
Congratulations on your new carbon fork! Enjoy!
Yep, originally Reynolds said two weeks until the new fork would be available (this was in the beginning of March) so I took an old Judy I had laying around and drilled out the brake arch for the calipers. It wasn't pretty and got pretty sketchy at speeds between 20-25 and again above 40, but it worked.
I knew carbon forks were good from others I'd ridden, but this thing is great. Maybe it's just because anything would be better than what I had on there, though...
well, thats good. My case is the opposite..
My LOOK carbon fork has been lying unused for months... Waiting for the frame to be finished... Actually, it is still being painted.. It has been 2 weeks delayed... I beginning to be impatient...
Hey Waldo u got pics of that suspension Judy on your road bike? I wanna see that ... :D
Dexmax, sorry to hear it. Waiting for bikes and parts is no fun at all.
Chi-I do have pics, I am hoping to scan 'em in tomorrow. I'll post 'em here when I get them done.
