Pacific Northwest - markham hill demonstration

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Anyone have any information on what was going on this morning on Markham hill up by OHSU? My wife called me and said there was a bunch of people with bikes in full spandex demonstrating (peacefully) against cars. Apparently they had signs and what not.
just kind of curious...

It was a Traffic SafeTea Party:
Bike Safety Awareness Action
SW Terwilliger & Condor Lane
(one of SW most dangerous!)
7:00-8:30 am and 4:00-6:00 pm
Hold signs to educate cyclists/motorists
People do these in places where there have been cyclist/motorist collisions and/or fatalities. They've done it in some pedestrian places, too. They're not supposed to be confrontational, merely friendly and educational.
You can get on some email lists that announce these events. PM me if you're interested.
