Pacific Northwest - east hill made me do it :)

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi. If you gave us a general idea of your coordinates, we might be able to look out for a good but inexpensive commuter for you more efficiently. :)
sedro-woolley washington. about an hour north of seattle.

Hi Austin, you are way out there! I think there's only one other member out your way (and I could be dreaming, too.)

I was just up to S-W. It looked more bike-friendly than Auburn.

The only bike friendly spot in Auburn is the Interurban :( .

No kidding. I commute to/from the Sounder station each day in Auburn, and regularly take the trail up to Tukwila a few times each week before work.
In the evenings I routinely get nasty looks from drivers while riding on surface streets.
It's amazing how down town Seattle seems safer for bikes on the roads.

I think it has something to do with all those duallies :) .
F.T.W., the Interurban is a paved trail which runs all the way from just past the Super Mall all the way to Boeing Field. It gets interrupted there, and picks up again somewhere in North Seattle. The trail follows the old Interurban rail line much of the distance, so it's straight. I think the overall distance is 22 miles or so in the southern stretch. It also connects with the Green River Trail, so you can make loops for riding.

BTW, welcome, F.T.W.! I'm one of those bohemian downhillers, so you probably don't want to associate with me :)
like the hardcore downhill? thats awesome! congrats to you! thats always looked fun, but I dont hav the balls to do that.
