Is this a good kit? This deal sounds too good to pass up. I don't plan to build my own bike from scratch but would like to be able to overhaul one, like I need to with my mtb. Anybody have this kit? Are the tools nice or will I break them if I need to crank on them? Any important tools missing from the kit? Thanks.

I bought that kit about 8 years ago when it came out. I still have some of the tools, and use them regularly. I would say it is a great starting point. You'll find out what you like and don’t like and fill in those spaces with Park or Pedro’s.

The two main things I didn't like about the kit - 1) Mine didn't come with a cable cutter 2) the spoke wrench really sucks, throw that away and buy a real one.

Thanks, ss. I already ordered it :D

But then I realized that I will need a different tool to install my Trvativ BB, which is another $22. Oh well, I still need the one from the kit to remove the old one. I'll see if a LBS sells them.

Well if all your going to repair is your own bicycle maybe there o.k.I bought one also a long time ago..there a modern set so you want to make sure your bicyle is a high ender....but if your going to repair bicycles from away back you'll need to buy all your free wheel removers...I don't think you get a no.1 freewheel remover with that kit just a lock ring remover for a cassette:rolleyes:
