Im working on building my new bike piece by piece, and was wondering if you guys had any suggestions about my plan.

So far...
I have a Giant NRS frame, and on order I have new avid cables, and a XT front derailer. The rest of the components will be made up with my old POS stuff from my old bike for the time being.

Next pay check...
Marzocchi MX comp ETA fork
Avid front and reat 160mm mechanical disks
Front and rear XT disk hubs
Mavic F219 disk rims

Some time after that...
rear derailer XT / XTR ???
9 speed cassette
XT shifters
xt cranks and bb
What else do I need to worry about here.
I would need a stem and handlebars, new seat post.

I would like to replace all of the POS stuff from my old bike so I can put my old bike back together as a beater. What do you guys think of this plan?

Sounds to me like you have your self a good rig in the making.

I have but one question though. How do you plan on keeping your hoops attached to your hubs? I believe you may want to consider some spokes too.:p

Have fun building:beer:

PricePoint has a decent deal on a Riser Bar/Stem combo from Easton!

I would also, ONLY recommend a Thomson Elite seatpost.
