does anyone tour with a yoga mat? the common ones are a bit bigger and heavier than i would prefer. i've thought of trimming it down to about 70% of it's size and that would help. maybe a combo sleeping pad/yoga mat? any thoughts or advice?

For doing yoga? The best part of yoga outdoors, is it's outdoors! Who needs a mat when you have grass or sand? I bet your sleeping mat would be too thick and spongy.
If you must, you can use these things-

We've both continued our yoga practice while touring. Cycling down the west coast we used our sleeping maps but left them uninflated. Now, in Asia we do not have our sleeping mats so we use a towel or just the floor in the guesthouse.

We met an interesting Belgian couple cycling in Northern Thailand who carried full sized yoga mats and used them as their sleeping mats when tenting.

Skip the yoga mats - they don't make good sleeping pads and they are heavy. The cool thing about yoga is you really don't need anything other than your body and some desire to do yoga. Be inventive and have fun with it.

I'm currently doing a crash course (well, just attending alot of classes) in Wu style Tai Chi Quan to relax and unwind after a day in the saddle on my tour. I figure it will be better to do on the side of the road or at camp sites because you stay on your feet the whole time.
