My Manitou black took a dump and the LBS wants 200 to fix it or $140 if I fix it myself...not going to waste the money fixing it so im looking for an online place to buy a fox Talas, F series, or Float 100mm RLC fork for a decent price. My LBS told me to go online as they wouldnt be able to give me a price that didnt make me want to smack them.

find a different LBS.

Factor in the cost of installation if you don't DIY.

Jensonusa pricepoint bluesky cycling greenfish I'd recommend using the bike shop if at all possible but those will get you started.

LBS told me not to use them for the new fork purchase...

As for the fork, I would fix it myself for the $140 rather then letting the LBS do it but its the principal of putting $140 into a fork that Manitou knows there is a problem with what happened but still wants to charge me for parts.

Generally Fox has a standard price even online I believe. Some companies, such as Speedgoat (www.speedgoat.com) offer free headsets to make it a little more appealing.

What do you expect from Manipoo?

Nothing but bliss from three Manitou products. Black Comp, Minute 1 and a Swinger three way.

I'm pretty sure your right. like a 36 TALAS RC2, online is between $985-$999, and if you order through a shop, it'll be the same prize, im 95% sure.

You can find some Fox products at decent prices on Ebay particularly if they are overstock OE stuff coming from the Far East.

If you're looking for online retailers, comparisonpricing.com does a good job of listing prices for various dealers.
