Where do you get get your pro-grade track apparel?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the pros have it made for them with team name, etc?

Virtually everyone rides skinsuits except in a few specialty applications, and virtually everyone is in a club skinsuit at the amateur level. So go the track, find a local club, join, and buy their skinsuits (or get them given to you) at low cost. Best way to go.

I'll tell our 6-day riders that. They use track-supplied lycra jerseys in different colors so the teams stand out.

Blank skin suits arent the easiest things to come by. They arent cheap either. Thats why if you can get one off your team or club your saving yourself some bucks.

A cheaper way to be just as streamlined as a skin suit if you dont have a team hooking you up is to get a pair of decent shorts that fit you right (duh!) and a Under armor, or somthing like that top. Nike, Under armor and several others make tops specific that are ment for hockey players and joggers in the cold and are a little thicker. They work quite nicly. I often train in one.

Less expensive than shorts and a jersey.

People don't generally choose skinsuits because one 'performs' better than the next, other than the ones with extra ventilation for extreme heat. You won't benefit from getting one with ribs unless you ARE an Olympic athlete already. Get one that fits and looks nice then worry about something else. I still have an Old Chevrolet-L.A. Sheriff's skinsuit I bought from Dave Lettieri about 10 years ago.

Some of us reverse your priority of fashion over performance just as others choose to put reliability or safety over performance or fashion. It's a personal preference really.

To say there's no benefit is not quite true. Weaker engines actually benefit more from resistance savings. Example: Get a skinny guy to run with a parachute behind him. Get a fullback to do the same.

nope. Air resistance is greater then a linear function of speed. Since the stronger engine is moving faster it receives more benefit from dimpling(or disks or aerobars).
