Recreational & Family - Pulling a Burley Piccolo on a Trek Lime?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Could I pull my kids on a Burley Piccolo with one of these autoshift bikes like the Trek Lime or Giant Suede? I rode the Giant today and it's a comfortable bike and pretty neat too. LBS guy says I could put a rack on the bike. I would think I'd get killed on the most marginal of inclines with kids in tow.

That which does not kill us, makes us stronger :).
You can do it. The bigger the hill, the smaller the gear you will want/need. Keep doing the hills and you will get stronger. Pretty soon you will wonder why you even worried about it.

Kind of depends on where you live. Around here, there are hills I can't pull the Piccolo up with mountain bike gearing.

Thanks. I ditched the idea of a cruiser or autoshift bike and went with a fitness bike - Trek 7.6fx.
