Installed the powertap last night.

I understand I'll lose -1000 OCP points for the picture, but I don't care.

I think it's been stated before, that OCP and PowerTap are mutually exclusive.

The SLR is fine for my butt. I'll be racing Vandervorts corner Sunday.

nice! wrap the cable around the rear brake cable bosses(or the cable itself) and lose the zip ties on the top tube.

Is my PT SL the only one that came with the clear tape strips or something? They don't seem to be used very commonly...

I used them on my IF and on my Blue. I didn't feel like messing with them for the Fuji. I was much more worried about performance than looks on that bike.

Mine came with the strips, and I used them. Fairly decent stuff, just have to be careful not to pull it too taut as it tears easily. It would be nice to find something a bit more sturdy, e.g. a kind of clear electrician's tape or something.

Orbea's are hot bikes. Nitpicky, but, as big a fan as I normally am of the white handlebar tape, I dont like it with that frame ...

whys that, I thought anything expensive added to the OCP aura?

Buying a Powertap shows that the rider is willing to spend a fairly large amount of money on something that's 1. not particularly stylish and 2. has no purpose other than to assist in upgrading the engine. Both are very anti-OCP. :D

But what if you get the 2.4, and never do threshold work? And it does have CF in the hub!:)

Then you're just stupid; which is probably even worse than OCP.

No, but I didn't notice it in the package until I already put zip ties on it. I'm going to lose the zip ties.

(I feel safe saying this in the racing forum...)

Perhaps you could get a waiver IF 1. The head unit was painted to match the bike and 2. said bike had a name other than what it was given at the factory. :D

Oh hell no. Had you said Garmin 305 I would have agreed. But wearing a PT on your bike says "I race" even if you don't. Even more OCP is to have a PT computer but a rear racing wheel that doesn't have a PT hub.

no way man you have to get a bike with the matching color of the power tap computer or at least get one with some matching yellow highlights.

Very nice bike. I like those Orbeas with the black and orange.
Project Velo gets a nice hook up!

No flame. It's your opinion. But I'm not going to sacrifice my Alps front to buy an AC350 nor is there an option for an Alps PT rear (that I know of).

Ok, guess I'm screwed. For some races I forgo the PT and use a set of Zipp 303 tubulars (saves about 2 lbs.) but use the PT computer jsut as a computer.

Looks sweet, and I like the white tape. Very classy looking!
