Tri tomorrow morning, Sprint distance - 1/4 swim, 16 mile BIKE, run 5K.
I'l be in the 60-64 age group, TOUGHer competetion than the (55-59) - I must admit I'm intimidated slightly. I'll be 60 in jun, but age at years end defines your bracket.
swim I can do under 8 min
Got a Cervelo P2 SL - Renn rear disc, hedd front tri - I do a 24 mph avg on a 10 mile tt. But not on this tri- its HILLY. I broke 20 last year on my madone. hoping for 21-22.
But-Running is not my strong point. I'm hoping to break 34 minutes.
Ain't Life Grand!!!!!!! :D :D :D

I would think with averages like that you should do pretty good. Good luck and have fun.
Good luck. It's not all about winning, but finishing should be your goal. Have fun.

Thanks all - they combined 60 - 99 - - - - about 8 folks.
I took 2nd or third, not sure yet.
I was not at my best, did it in 1:27 last year, about 4-5 minutes longer this year. Swam good - biked good- but Fatigue was a huge factor in running. It was a hard stressful week at work (no EXCUSES). But gosh it was a glorious day!!!!! 65-70, calm, bright and sunny!!!!
folks who are close to trying one - DO IT! Even a not so good day is simply amazing realizing God has given me the strength to still do this. Again as last year thought of my good boyhood friend John Claggett, KIA may 20, 1070 RVN. Miss ya Johnnie.
Congrats and way to go.

That's absolutely outstanding! I enjoy swimming and cycling, and in days gone by could run at the same pace as a platoon of Marines; however, if I tried that combination now, the Tri for next year would be named the "Doctor J Memorial Tri" because they would be hauling off my lifeless carcass! I respect your determination and training which allowed you to finish in the money. Well done!
Outstanding!! You are incredible!!

Well done- but I reckon you lost a place or two by not training hard enough in the glorious weather that the event was run in. If only it had snowed or poured with rain:rolleyes:
Once again- well done.
