thanks tom, fantastic bike, did phil wood build your wheels, they look bomb proof what size or model are your panniers , they really sit well on the bike ,seem to have loads of storage ..how does that beauty ride fully loaded what crankset is that thanks again tom keep safe..
Thanks Antokelly. I made the frame, and built the wheels. The front hub is a 36 hole Hugi tandem hub, the rear is a 145mm 40 hole Phil Wood dishless tandem hub. One odd thing is that the spoke lengths on all four sides of the wheelset are the same. They are 26" wheels, Rhino Lite rims and DT Alpine III spokes. I wanted them to be super reliable. The front panniers are Arkel 18s. The rear panniers are some Maddens that I have had for a loong time. The crankset is Sugino XD. Everything seems to work really well, and it handles well loaded.

A friends fiancee has one with Campagnolo Veloce. Apparenltly it rocks! Campag is not the most common choice for touring, but it works so nicely. Nothing above Veloce though.
Another mate has a Waterford with bar end shifters and Pauls brakes. We're going to swap bikes for a while. Should be fun (he wants to try Campag ergo shifting; he cannot use Shimano STI due to a disability).
one word--rohloff. you'll be happy. very happy.:)
