Mountain Biking - Finally, my final decision on my first mtb...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Paid $299.99 out the door. I LOVE THIS BIKE!!! I decided against the Trek for numerous reasons. The clerk told me that the SpecHR is more of a mtb frame than the trek 4300 is. Its upgradeable to disc brakes and it is lighter by 3 pounds.
So, did I make a good investment?
Very nice - pretty color also!!!

Yes, you made a great investment!! That's a cool bike, awesome that it's only $299!
IM SO EXCITED!!! I rode it earlier for about an hour and this is the best bike I have ever had. Im sure there are better ones out there but this one suits me just fine. Ive already replaced the pedals to Primo Tenderizers. Saddle is next then fork. Other than that I am totally happy. All the other lbs around town were selling it for $320 and up, I got a great deal on it!!!
Now do you see the difference between Sports Authority bike dept. junk and a LBS bike? I knew you'd come around! Keep us posted.

freakin sweet. I think I will buy one of those. I have had trouble getting it in my size though. 17s seem to come a go quickly. People say that they hate the RST forks, but the one that I test rode on (a 19 incher that was a *bit* to big) seemed ok. Keep us posted, I'm definitly interested in some first hand reviews...
