This past winter, I decided to upgrade my ride to a NiteHawk K2 headlamp with a 6 volt NiMH battery pack. Now that the season has changed and we're officially in DST, I no longer need lighting on my commute and likely won't be using the headlamps again until the Fall. The owners manual wasn't very enlightening on what to do with the batteries for summer storage.

Do I:
1) put them in my parts box and ignore until October?
2) put them in my parts box and fully charge once/month?
3) plug them into the charger and leave them on trickle charge all summer?

This wasn't an issue with the AA style headlamps as I could swap the batteries into my walkman.

I charge mine once every 3 to 6 months if they are not being used.

Fully charge them before storage and give them a charge every couple of months that what I did with my 6volt NiMH from Cygolite.

re: Lupine > Technique > Ni-MH
So if I'm interpreting this correctly, I should put them through a discharge>recharge cycle once a month or so?
