Cyclocross - Redline Conquest Pro - is this a good deal?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
I test rode my first CX bike and was really amazed. Coming strictly from MTB, I was quite impressed by the speed!
I can get it for around $1300 from LBS. The helpful person there explained to me that since it isn't the season really it would be good for them to open up some room for inventory.
Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

- depends on components, service deal thrown in, discount for accessories, wheelset, and other goodies from your LBS...
- here's the 2007 frame for less than $400? (http://www.greenfishsports.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1529)
components, specs, etc. are standard from mfr. and look like this:
Shimano 105 (FD RD)
carbon fork
Ultegra shifters
wheelset - FSA RD-220 SS Double Butted Spokes 24H F and 28H R
Tires - WTB Cross Wolf Race 700 x 32C
Service includes several first year service packages
Admittedly I'm new to this, but seems like the 'more desireable' set of components from what I've read at a decent overall price.
Would be looking for this to be a all-around bike for commuting, midrange distance rides, mixed surface and I'd like to try CX event or 2. I'm a little leary about that and am hoping ot find some recreational events or clinics.
If anyone has thoughts on $'s / value of this package, thoughts on this bike as a good "all around workhorse" and/or ideas on getting started with actual CX events (Chicago area recreational events, clinics, etc.) I'd appreciate it.

Looks okay price wise and the Conquest is a killer bike.
I say have fun. You might find something to quibble about later, but I wouldn't worry.

1,300 seems like a good price for a conquest pro. The conquest pro is an awesome cx frame, I'd get it.
