Finally some decent weather. I bought this last fall on ebay and took it down to the frame and cleaned and regreased everything then the weather turned to crap. I finally latched on to some campy replacement hoods at a price I was willing to pay around Feb. I woke up early yesterday morning with the idea of taking the P13 on the local group ride and in a blaze of activity changed the stem to a more age appropriate and longer Cinelli and replaced the hoods and taped the bars in red tressostar. I took a quick shower and donned cycling kit and snarfed a couple of cold leftover hamburgers for fuel as I was running late. Rode her on a beautiful 40 mile ride with some rolling hills and climbs and she showed her rear cluster to some brifter equipped raffle. Observations: I have ridden alot of bikes in my life but this is the most responsive and comfortable frame I've run across. It climbs well in and out of the saddle. I'd also forgotten how neat tubular tires are. It's been about 25 years since I've ridden a bike with tubies. The Avocet seat surprised me being very comfortable on the old kiester. Carrying a water bottle in my jersey pocket was not near as bad as I thought it would be. I might abandon the search for a suitable bar mount cage. In one afternoon the Paramount earned itself a trip to Columbus Ohio for TOSRV in a few weeks (provided the weather looks nice).
