My husband and I will be in town next weekend and we were wondering about some good trails for mountain biking. My sister will be watching the baby so we can go to trails without the worry of bringing our 20 mos old.

If u wanting to stay real local there are tons of trails between Lookout mt and signal mt. Also prentice cooper has some decent trails too and is real local.

Just hit GOOGLE up and see what you find. http://www.google.com

Edwards Point. The view from the bluff is breath taking. The trails are alot of fun also. Look at the directions on mtn bike review. Also, the maps that are not that good on Chattabike. (of the point that is). Park at the sportsman's club on Edwards Point Rd. Also, you are only about four miles from downtown Chattaboogie! Have a safe trip. One tip, all the trails end up on the bluff at some point.

In case someone finds this in a search . . . .

Better to park at the trail head marked on the map found at www.chattbike.com. Much more fun ride in. Hang a left when you hit the Jeep road and you will come to the point. Great view!

On other thing. Not all trails lead to the point. Mushroom Rock tril turns right off the Jeep rad if you come from The sportsmans Club and it never goes towards the point. Getting out can be tricky if you don't know the trails. Not hard to explain but better to knwo before you ride.

My favorites in the Chattanooga area so far are:

Edwards Point
Chilhowee - Slick Rock Trail
Tanasi System - Chestnut Loop and Down TR Express.
Lula Lake Land Trust (Closed to Public, Must ride with Bike Club)

Hope this helps for future rides.
