2008 Horribly Hilly Hundreds is June 14th.

2008 Dairyland Dare is August 16th.

Most organized rides are the same weekend of whatever month they are usually held, but sometimes do change. The 2007 Spring Forward was one that moved from its late March weekend to late April, so they can change.

The place to keep bookmarked is Mike Bentley's Illinois Rides (http://www.mikebentley.com/bike/ilrides.htm) list. It still has 2007 listed, but it usually is a great place to find all the rides in Illinois and surrounding states.

I'm not sure if I'll be in state on New Years Day, but if I am I think it would be cool (if not too cold :D) to start the year with a group ride.

like i thought i am out for the HHH as i HAVE TO go on a FREE 10 day cruise that week :p. i actually would rather ride for those ten days.

the DD is my big one next year. 300k is on the schedule. once i state it, i do it. who's with me?

later.

That's just a funny sentence.

Good, that will give me a few hours to sleep before driving your exhausted self home.

So that would be a 6:00am start, no later, 14 hours to go 300k. A little over 13 mph going over hills 90+ heat, probably rain also. I'm In. The dates for this one I believe is one week later than last year.

just spotted your reply mr dave342.

you can book me as your tag along buddy for the 300. however, 13 mph seems a bit slow. i would hope you could pull up and over the hills a bit faster. i mean, do you know how drunk Psimet will be if it takes us that long ! seriously.

13 mph would be FLYING on parts of that course, aham. Just ask dave, who was waiting for me to struggle up some inclines at 3 or 4 mph.

The Dare course will sap your legs and 13 mph will seem like a dream come true after a while.

Just wait until you have to ride up Roberts Road for a second time.... or Shop Hill Road just once right before you make that decision to turn off and tackle the 300k route.

Many training trips to SW Wisconsin will be needed to sufficiently prepare you. Not that that's a bad thing... :D

OK. Time for 2008 ride schedule. I will be updating this thread (or possibly switching to a clean one) for the BFNIC 2008 ride schedule.

I have already received some PMs about which rides people want to see included, etc. We can use this thread as a discussion about which rides to include, but there is no need to talk about rides that were already in for 2007...I will keep them in for 2008 even if no one is going to them.

It takes a while for a lot of organizers to get their information out though so this list will develop as we go.

I will attempt to make the list a .pdf this year to help those without MS Office.

If you rode one of the rides from the current 2007 list and I did not update the list to reflect your participation then please PM me with the ride and the route (mileage) you did.

Sorry, but I got busy with the jersey bit.

EDIT: I will also consider putting a few races in there if someone plans on riding in it and would be interested in having some of us come and watch. I myself promise myself every year that I will ride a few late season crits. Maybe this year I will.

...bought a cyclocross rig....maybe some X action next winter???;)

http://www.downtownelgin.com/Page.aspx?ID=99&PID=17 - at the office the interactivity do-hickeys don't work and I forgot the link tags to manually script it so cut and paste into the browser.

But basically this is the Elgin Cycling Classic. In August. By then I might be in shape. I have no problem working as a domestique for you though and let's face it - few others out there in CAT V will be working together.

I predict a top 5 finish for you. Not dead last for me.

I'm in for the Elgin race. I saw the Cat 5 finish last year and am confident I can hold off those guys to not finish last. :)

looks like we have a 3 member team, so far :) .

i dont know about any top 5 finishes. my handling skills are a bit limited for racing, i would think. it can just be one of those "fun things" to do.

who else is in?

I plan on doing a couple TT's this year.
Sun July 13 Stanley TT Stanley, WI
Sun Aug 17 Stoughton TT Stoughton, WI

Just for fun, and to see how I'll do on a timed event over 20 km.

Oh sure, post your ride while I get dissed. I'm offering beer at the end of my ride, what makes your's so great?? :p;):p

Also, if you would, add this one to your schedule, I know a couple of us are planning on this one.

Hmmm....the Spring BFNIC ride is the next day on 4/27 in New Glarus. Maybe we make a weekend out of it?

EDIT: I will try to update the list once again tonight. I will be adding some TT events from ABR as well. Nothing like having a big list giving people lots of options.

I definitely want to do a few crits this year.
I'm planning on attending as many SCW Tuesday night training crits as I can fit into my schedule.

If there is going to be BFNIC team, I'd help to carry some bottles for the GC :)

So far I've signed up for the cat5 and cat4/5 crit on April 6th at the Blackhawk Farms Raceway up in Rockford.
I've signed up for the 200k Dairyland Dare
And I'm going to ride 30 miles on May 25 with my daughter in tow doing the 'Bike the Drive' for the American Diabetes Association.
I'm also going to do the 100 mile ride for the American Diabetes Association at the Indianapolis Speedway on June 14th.
I definitely want to do the Hilly Hundred again, but signup is closed until June 1st.

And I'm going to participate in the Tuesday night training crits south of I-80 in Matteson, IL
And maybe some of the Chicago Time Trial series starting in May. More info on www.chicagott.com

Hope to meet some of you guys during those rides.
