Commuting - Bike promotion videos from the Netherlands

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hope this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BUXzOKaWl5w&eurl=http%3A%2F%2Ftodd%2Ecleverchimp%2Ecom%2Fblog%2F) hasn't been posted already. (Warning: there is sound)
Can anyone provide a translation?

My Dutch isn't spectacular, but this should be fairly good (I'm sure a true orange cloggie will come along and correct me):
___
Als we zo graag op de fiets zitten (lovers on bike kissing)
Warrom staan we dan in de file? (beemer)
If we are so happy on the bike, why do we sit in the traffic?
___
(guy rolls out of the garage on his bike, leaving beemer to rot)
Fietsen naar je werk. Een goede zaak
Cycle to work. A good job/task.
___
Elevator scene:
(macho key posing)
announcement: attention: driver of a blue Saab... you forgot your parking brake.
(guy on left chuckles)
announcement: attention: the blue Saab went into the yellow Lotus
(guy on left cringes)
Cyclist at the back walks out smiling.
Zonder ongemakken? (without inconveniences?)
Pak de fiets! (take the bike!)
___
(I'm not translating that whole song)
___
That bit with the Saddam-type guy on the harley bike is funny.
___
(four guys in suits racing to work)
fietsen naar je werk
Maak er een sport van.
Cycle to work. Make a sport of it.
___
(loser with his "driving mix" that drives 10 seconds to work.)
Ja, sommige mensen kiezen heel makelijk voor de auto.
Some people choose very easily for the car.
___
lab scene with rorsach (sp?) tests:
De eerste faase is ontkenning.
Je moet de verslaavde de oplossing anreke (not sure that one)
And dan moet je het initiatief zelf nemen.
En als hij het alleen aankunne, dan laaten we zijn los.
Autoverslaving is een onderschot probleem
Wij moeten deze mensen helpen.
Ja iemand moet in de files doen
-
The first phase is understanding.
And then you must take the initiative yourself.
And if he can do it himself, we let him loose.
Autoslavery is a serious problem
We must help these people.
Yeah, someone has to sit in traffic
---
(bmx guy jumping around in traffic)
Pak de auto.. met de fiets
Pack the car.. with the bike
---

This one was a little goofy, no? The guy was a little shaky at first and weaved on the road. My impression is that they aren't so concerned with safety as they would be in the US.

I like the blinkie!:) But that's a strange accident. The tears are good--people get too attached to their cages since they spend so much cash on them.

Not sure, but he looked more like Fidel Castro. This was wierd.

Love the sponge. :D

This is an odd series of videos, in that they don't have a specific slant to them (besides cycling). Who's paying for them--the department of transportation? Department of energy?
You'd think they'd emphasize some benefit--saving gas, traffic congestion, or health.
NFTA (mentioned in the link) is the Netherlands Academy for Film and Television. These are some kind of student projects. There's more info on the NFTA site (http://www.nfta2.myahk.nl/Lichting2006/menus/menu-projecten.htm), but I understand bugger all of it :). It seems this project starts with imaginary specs for bike commercial and they take it from there. Maybe Nicodemus can translate more of the synopsis (I cannot copy/paste it here for some reason)?

All I see so far is a list of projects and people, but so far no 'synopsis' to translate.
At the main NAFTA site I can't find much on the lichting stuff and the search function is wacked. But this is basically the yearly festival of the end exams / final projects of the students.

They don't need to be. My commute is almost 100% dedicated bike path or lane. You don't really see helmets here (except roadies). There's no need because when society caters to cycling as way of life, all life is able to enjoy it. Kids, oldies, everyone.

From my perspective, it's more like a 'reminder' of how enjoyable cycling is. They don't need the encouragement so much, as so many people already cycle and the infrastructure is everywhere.
