I don't know if the "strong and fearless" equates to VC. Strong and fearless connotes a rider who is confident (perhaps overly so) and who rides wherever, whenever, however he pleases, rules and consequences be damned.
A good healthy dose of fear of being hit by a car is necessary IMHO for self-preservation and safe riding methods.
