I'm looking at Haro's website and the 8.1 has a deore rear derailler on it, also I think the upgrade to an 8.2 would be worth the cash, much better parts (That's if you can take the army green).

I thought at first you were saying you weighed 619 lbs :o

i'be heard that the 8.2 is also available in silver/blue. at least thats what the webpage for my LBS claims...
personally i really like that bike, but as you mention, the army green is a bit much. but in silver and blue, it would be great.

I may be wierd, but I like the Army Green. I've always liked "out of the ordinary" type stuff.
Besides the color the Escape is a good bike.

It's comparible to a RockShox Judy TT, not a bad fork for the money.
It's a coil/mcu, with only preload adjustments. It also has a steel steerer tube, so it's durable, but on the heavy side. You can have a lot of fun on this bike without a problem. This fork is better to my first suspension fork that I had on my bike and had a lot of fun on.
If you get "seriously" involved into mtn biking, it'll be on the things you'll want to upgrade, but that's down the road. First things first and that's to get the bike.

a2 yes you are weird, but we like you that way, Oh, yeah reason I replied was, having a "unique bike color is handy at times, its much easier to spot in the rack at a 24 hour race!!
BTW, Mountain bike gave the nod to the Manitou six over the Marzocchi because it had a preload. (I miss the feel my Zoke had, but the Duke is by far lighter!! almost a pound and a half!)

Those are some bad reviews. The first guy (at the bottom) didn't have too mahy problems but the rest, wow. I wouldn't get it. Those are horrible reviews even if it is a low end fork. :)

Well to be honest I KNOW nothing about that fork except those reviews. But 10 straight bad reveiws is uncommon if the product is remotely good. I don't trust mtbreview but when 100% of the reviewers thought it blew ass, it probably blows ass. :)
Six appears to be a pretty common coil/elastomer shock. In general I try to avoid them because they can really shake you around when you don't want them too. Especially on tricky descents.
There is a lot of confusion on the EXR Comp that comes with the 8.2, and I'm not real clear on the solution. Either the EXR or the EXR Comp are bad news, but I can't quite pin down which is which because there is no info on either on the Marocchi webpage.
