hi i need a workout that i can use to help build muscle so i can do better in bmx. i have a stationary bike, dumbells, and one of those bungeecord benches. how can i use them properly? all i know is how to use them i just dont know which way would be most effective, eg. amount of strain on bike compared to how long the workout is. meaning either low strain and longer workout or higher strain and quick workout?

Do both. Sometimes ride the bike for one to two hours at a pace that makes you sweat but not breathe really hard. Sometimes ride really, really hard for 2-5 minutes, rest a couple of minutes and repeat until you are exhausted. Then ride some more at an easy pace. Try to ride your bike or the stationary about 10 hours a week, if you can. If you've got talent and you do that all year, that should make you competitive.
There are many more elaborate training schemes, but that's a start. If you try that for a while, you'll come back with a lot more questions. Which is good.

Watch some BMX video's, the guys are (other then a few exceptions like Seth Kimbrough) are all average build people. You DO NOT need to be strong to do BMX, in fact a lot of times it can hamper what you are trying to do.
It's all in technique, my neighbor is 12 years old and TINY (Maybe 80lbs soaking wet) and can still hop my bike about 18 inches.
