Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - okay soma urban pursuit plus trigger brake equals:

I just got my new urban pursuit horns in today and put them on the bike (they look great by the way) and my stupid goldfinger trigger brake doesnt fit on them! I am still to uncomfatable to ride without a brake but I dont want a huge lever on there so the trigger only made sence, are there any triggers anyone knows about that have a bigger mounting size than the golfinger? It would be better if anyone also has the urban pursuit bars and runs a trigger brake (better still if you provide a pic). Thanks for the help guys!

why do you want a trigger brake instead of something near the bar end where your hands will be when you need it.

i bought a cheap tektro bmx lever and just filed away for an hour to make it fit my nashbar bulls. it scratched up my bars alittle bit putting it on though, so i doubt you'd want to do that to your somas, nevermind.

I rode some urban pursuits when I had my fuji track, overall I liked them though they seemed a little long at the bar ends - I thought about hacking off an inch or so but never got around to it. I also like my brake lever by the stem since I rode up in the flats most of the time.

performance, nashbar, any lbs should be able to order one(it probably won't fit well on flop and chops or nittos). you can also mount a road lever out their though it is not as neat.

The standard tri levers sold by cane creek, tektro, nashbar, performance, etc... will all work. These are the ones with expander plugs. They work on nitto 009's, FWIW, just not 019's or 021's (can't remember about 018's, which is what the somas are clones of).

These are the ones with expander plugs. They work on nitto 009's, FWIW, just not 019's or 021's (can't remember about 018's, which is what the somas are clones of).
The Nashbar TT lever worked fine with my Nitto 021 bars.

Probably lawyers. Doesn't look like you can get much leverage on the thing as you pull instead of squeeze and its awfully short. But given how many people here ride brakeless, its really a step up from nothing at all. I have heard they only exist to satisfy technical requirements for triathlon racing.

These levers are super aero, but leave a little to be desired as far as stopping power goes, but they can scrub off speed to set up for your next tight turn or slow you down after crossing the finish line.

seems fairly pointless.. heavier and less effective!!!!!

Also look in to the Dia-compe Tech 77 lever. This was one of my favs when I rode BMX.

EDIT: By the way, it's hinged, for easy installation and removal. You don't have to slide it around the whole bar. Just clamp it where you want.

If I remember correctly, the Tech 77 will fit 1" bars. It comes with a shim for 7/8". Just call to verify before you order.

I have a set of tech 77's, won't fit on road bars...just risers and mt(22.2mm)

most diatech levers will fit on road bars however, and are hinged as well.
