Today was a great day !!! Gorgeous temps in the high 80's and virtually no wind  Imagine that. Me on a ride with no wind. Anyhow my friend Lara took the day off too and we began our trek to Lake Mead Ntl Park. We had planned on a one way ride so we had to strategically leave one truck at the visitors center where our ride would end and drove down to Boulder Beach where our ride would start. Along the route we placed 2 small coolers with water and gatorade. We stopped at mile 50 ( Echo Bay Marina) and had lunch we continued on our ride around the beautiful lake and before it ended we did that glorious climb up to the White domes. Total miles 90. Total time on the bike 6:32 Elevation: 7500 feet.

Ok, I'm jealous. Maybe a little hooky from work is what I need too.
Thanks for the pictures. I lived in LV while I was in the Air Force. I didn't ride road bikes then and barely rode my MTB.

I'm jealous too, but happy to hear those who are spontaneous about their cycling endeavor; nice pics, and good stuff to be inspire by.

OK, so what's with the cooler thing? You left it there? You unflung it from the dirt? Is there some special meaning to the "cooler back into the dirt"?

At least it was a dry heat.
I have no idea actually.

"Flung" was for dramatic effect, I'm sure - as a way to say, "I'm too bada$$ to walk it under the tree in the dirt because I'm in the middle of my hooky ride, dammit!" Or, maybe she didn't want to get sand in her cleats. Nonetheless, the battle scars on the cooler from it being flung are character marks - stories to tell next time she's entertaining and the question gets asked.
Looks like a great ride, Asia!! 22 days and counting to Outback!!! ;)

22 days  wow I thought I was closer   but I just pulled out the calendar and you are right....dang it..Those cows better appreciate me after this. They will have had 30 days to re-populate...
Now the reason it was "flung" was..........and I left this part out purposely before :o When I went down to place it under the bush the first time, the sand was really loose and I was sliding down into the sticker bushes. I did a great split though...haven't done one in years. A 9 on the score cards for sure :p
I literally had 2 sticker bush branches embedded in my new hot pink sugar shorts and I was pissed :( So the moral of the story is.......just fling it.
