Has anyone been watching the OLN series? Road to the Tour. It is extremely informative and educational. I have learned so very much by watching it. It is set up in 30 minute blocks, and they are usually several episodes back to back.

It has covered the history of the Tour de France, and it has had much detailed coverage about the various riders. Mercex, Lemond, Armstrong. It has many short but very detailed biographies on some of the greatest riders. I have enjoyed watching it, and I will watch more episodes as they are aired.

BTW, I really hope Lance pulls it off this year. What an accomplishment it would be for him. Best -

How many episodes are there? My digital cable TV guide thingy says its a 'three part series' which is weird since they show 2 episodes at a time.
What are the episodes?
I think I've seen each of them.
The three I recall:
Greatest rivalries
Lemond
Merckx

I am not sure how many episodes. I kind of layed on the couch and drifted in and out while they were on. I liked what I saw. I was not sure how MerckX spelled his name. He was phenominal wasn't he? So was Lemond.

After reading/hearing about Merckx... wow. I wish I was around to see his races! (televised coverage of races ;) )
It makes me wish a rider like that existed today... although I don't see that happening with the way the sport has changed.

I saw the one that dealt with the climbs of the Tour. The only thing wrong with it was that it was only a half hour long!

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuugh!

I gotta get my cable company to give me access to OLN!!! They charge me 99 cents a month for all premium channels, plus all the usual channels, but they restrict access to OLN. Isn't that messed up?

I'm gonna check into this when I get back home. Thanks for the heads up.

I watched the Merckx and Climbs episodes.
If you really want to know what The Cannibal was like
get a copy of "A Sunday in Hell" about Paris-Roubaix.

think on this: If Eddie hadn't crashed in the Kermese
(think thats spelled right), would he have gotten more wins?
he did take off the 73 tour.

ive seen 4 half hour segments so far, and enjoyed all of them. the only problem ive had is they dont seem to be on at any kind of set time. i think i saw them 2 days in a row from 7 to 8 pm. so sat down to watch tv the next day at 7pm and rodeo was on. i guess maybe i could look at the OLN web site and find when they will be aired, great shows.
they also showed the tour of the alps classic last nite.

I always thought OLN was gross, they're always airing these shows about killing deer or fishing or whatnot but I guess they aren't all bad! I'm gonna be forced to start going to the bar to watch OLN! -Ian
