Came across this ebay offering today, looks interesting. Bigger wheels would be nice.

Yeah I looked at that, it is only superficially similar. It folds altogether differently.

Looks like a chain drive, no parts lists, or weight. What's the point of the bike? Bah!

Thanks for the links, although no luck with the second one.

The fold looks a bit ungainly:

& no info under the Spec' link.

horrible, all the problems of the strida with none of the benefits

Not really.

This knockoff can have any saddle including a Brooks Champion Flyer. Furthermore, those tires are higher pressure since the rims are made of aluminum. If they can add larger wheels, an AW-3 hub, and compress the fold about 20%, it could very well give the Strida a run for it's money at half the price.

What problems did you find when you rode a Strida?

A possible improvement to the Strida would be to use A-bike style folding seatmast.

Hi all. Seems there is another one of these listed on ebay.

Wondering if anyone has ridden one?

PS: I managed to find some specs for it here http://www.likest.com/bicycle/csda-2.htm

What say you - get one of these, or save up for a strida 5?

The basic idea seems a Strida knockoff as said before, but without the compact fold and with smaller wheels. I would steer clear of these since they probably didn't go through the sort of development refinement as the Strida, unless you can test one and find it to be suitable for you.

Too right, I think. It just looks ... dinky ...which is never a good sign in a prospective purchase. Still, for someone with A$100 + shipping to blow - go nuts: http://tinyurl.com/2rw2lf

There's a similar bike in China, too.

It seems quite popular in Korea

I don't know why the bike is being referred to as a Strida knockoff since it is pretty different in many ways and nly has a superficial resemblance. You could claim that the Strida is a knockoff of other 'A' framed bicycles like the Pederson on the same grounds, but would be unjustified in doing so.

Because it has a proper fork at the back it would be possible to fit it with a multi gear hub. It may even have one, but I can't see because none of the links seem to work for me.

^ Yeah, I agree... it's got enough going on it's own NOT to be considered a knock off.

The orange one is a real cutie... looks like 12 inch wheels. The silver one could be a 16 inch wheeler.

--------------

Regarding critical analysis, well it just a bike. Nothing to be afraid of... see, those guys in Hong Kong are just chilling-out, they know what it's all about. Sometimes I think we over-think things.

Buy one, or don't buy one... either way, it's all good. Folders could rule the world one day, so there's goes another one, I say great! :)

I really hate bad manners. I thought at first that Eastbiker might not be aware that we are pretty polite here, but

I just did a search of his posts and they are full of this kind of personal rudeness and aggressive attitude.

Yup. Not to mention that he's scoffing at a post made almost two years ago.

Aha - that's why those links wouldn't work. I really need to start checking the dates on posts myself. I don't usually do that. If a thread appears reasonably current in the list, I just look at the posts and respond to them. This has happened a few times for me.

Right, and it's not just you. I wish there was something the mods could do to mitigate this; for example, maybe have the background color of a post change a month and a year after it posts?

Yes that might explain the many errors in the previous posts, such as:-

You could use any seat on the EzyBike, you can use most seats on a Strida (& the copy, see EvilV's)

It has metal wheels & high pressure tyres, so have all Stridas since the 3.

& could it give a Strida a run for it's money? I doubt it! Cheaper yes, but better quality, with those tiny wheels, you're having a laugh! LOL!
