My Sub10 is now truly a Sub10 kg bike!

I'm SO happy it hurts.

Awesome piece of machinery. I've got the best bike (or best Subby) in old Sydney town.

Was running an XT group set (26' wheels, my 700c's are being hand built as we speak), though now have ripped it all off, WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY.

Am learning to spin and loving it.

Good to see Scott back in the US market.

Am totaly single speed, no adjuster. Running xt wheels, cranks, brakes (with hydro lines), thompson post, Sub10 06' (silver) frame with 07' raw carbon fork.

But....... sub 10 pounds isn't all that light. Is it? I mean, I had a 22lb road bike back in 1984, and it wasn't by a long stretch the lightest (or most expensive) thing on the market.

Not a SS, but I commute on a Scott Cyclocross. Love it.

I can't stop myself saying this - sorry - but my fg weighs 7.1kg. And it's cheap.

it's not the lightest, but worth a small pat on the back.

10 kilos might not be super light, but it aint bad for an all-mountain rig. mine's much heavier, but then again it has wussy ass gears.

I thought I was going to see some ridiculous sub 10 pound bikes. Never did grade 6 math? Get on top of your units boy! Also specialize gets a slap on the wrists. This stinks of McDonald's '100% Beef' patties.

Just for a little more context, my frame is 20" of 4130 Cr-Mo, a tank if there ever was one. The rear wheel, despite being a freewheel hub weighs as much as many mid-weight road wheelsets (although likely not as much as one Aerospoke).

i know even my KM fork wieghed at least a pound more than the costom fork it was replaced by... they make stuff to last, those surly folk.

I also wish that you had a camera... I think I'm going to do the same for my own... Does anybody know if it's okay to have a single speed in the back but keep the three cranks in the front ?

It's pretty nice for a hybrid. I'd rather have a Marin Point Reyes or a Novara Safari, but it probably looks better than either of those bikes.

okay, here's my single speed sub10 (mounted with studded tires - it definitely looks better with slicks - but you wouldn't want to try that here and now).
I know most of you are going to scream how dirty it is, but if you ever got to bike in winter in Finland, you'd know how I feel... and I still need to remove two cranks in the front to finish it off ...

My main commuter is a Scott SUB 30, barely stock at this point. It uses the same frame as the SUB 10, with a different component set. It's a solid bike, I'm guessing those who say they suck haven't ridden one...
