Wow, nice pics! I can't believe you can hike in Germany in Bavaria at this time of year, makes me want to go back. We aren't able to hike in our Rockies for at least another month, maybe two, too much snow and most of the trails are impassable, what's it like to see so much greenery and flowers this time of year?? Our grass is almost looking greenish, no leaves out on trees yet, flowers...we don't even think of planting for another month. Sigh. Long winters up here... I always think of this time of year as too early to travel to Europe (ie Germany, France) but after reading your blog, I think I'm changing my mind.

I went up Zugspitze in December last year. Went up the cable car from the Austrian side though (it only took 10 minutes).

I saw your picture of the F off USA grafitti. I took this photo in Venice last September:

We've had a pretty mild winter in these parts. The hiking was fantastic. Wildflowers out everywhere, with just a few patches of snow here and there.
