When I'm riding along side of a long mirrored glass window building,
Pedals spinning I catch a glimpse of myself flying by.

Riding down the lakeshore tonight with a crazy tail-wind through mist at about seven sans people. That was nice.

I'm pretty sure [165] is going to get pissed.

That being said, I totally feel you on the mirrored window thing. I also like skidding around people who cut me off while walking. Scares the crap out of them if you get sideways enough.

the mirrored thing is pretty great, i also had a proud moment today where i saved myself after throwing my chain and dragged my heels to stop, it's a really good feeling to know that you can handle it when something goes wrong.

There's the bridge in Atlanta that goes over an expressway and when it's dark all the headlights from the cars below cast a shadow on the bridge wall of my bike wooshing by. It's priceless.

the other day i was trackstanding behind a really clean and shiny scion, and the whole back of it was acting like a big mirror. I looked gooood.

happened today;

i was going down a big hill, i was doing half rotation skips to maintain control, halfway down my foot comes out of the pedal, i didnt even trip out i just caught the bottom of the pedal pull up to a skid, calmly placed my foot back into the toe clip and kept going like it didnt even happen.

thinking about the worst case scenarios while riding has finally paid off!

Love it!! You can't make out any indication of spokes... your tires look like they're floating in your forks.

I think that most girls that would just jump on you for whatever they see (bougeois rittenhouse morons), would think you're riding a bike because you're poor.

having a conversation with friends while riding in desolate streets.

also having a car honk at you, pass you, zoom ahead to the next red light, stop, and than get passed by me as I gently run my gloved fingers over there hood......it tastes so sweet

Leisurely spinning on any bike, at night, in the city is always great.

Had a great moment this morning.

I was riding on an unpaved levee and the gravel was pretty loose. There were parts where I would have tried to stand up and coast if I were on the geared bike but instead I had to keep the pedals going, quickly but lightly. The less I gripped the bars the better control I had; the front wheel found its own way and I was spinning with my butt barely touching the saddle, my hands barely on the bars, just balanced on the balls of my feet, and my mind was totally blank.

i take a short-cut between two buildings that includes a parking area, several intersecting walking paths and a garden and to get through requires a series of 90 degree turns. when the cranks fall right and the timing is perfect, its gonna be a good day.

this has always been a favorite;

getting from point a to point b with out ever putting down a foot. ive gone through great lenghts to keep the mental game behind it going where going beyond traffic lights and traffic there are moments where you might meet a friend on the roadside. even during those moments i try to keep a my feet off the ground. its always a good feeling to reach point b to realize that you never put a foot down.

First time I was able to truly trackstand; slightly rocking forward and backward...it was one of those "ah-ha" moments which for some reason seemed so difficult to do beforehand and then instantly became simple. Same goes for skidding.

It all reminded me of the sensation of riding a bike for the first time - you know, the moment when it all 'clicked' and you were able to balance up right and ride around...ditching the training wheels for good.

It's a great natural high. Sadly, it goes away and you need to find another one...next up for me is either drugs or a mastering a unicycle. Think I'll go with the unicycle.

I agree, trackstanding was strangly enough one of the most liberating feelings I have felt. It seemed to take forever, but then all of a sudden it was like my head opened up and it became simple. I love it.

Also, those minutes after a really intense ride where you just want to collapse, the rebuilding of your whole body after you tore it apart.

Leaving the engineering lab at about 3am after doing way too much homework, campus completely abandoned and totally silent, sprinting like mad on freshly paved paths. I love the sound of tires powering hard out of tight corners on fresh pavement.

Bonus points if it happens to be a foggy night.
