Anyone in queens ever ride along the water on the Cross Island Expressway?

Is it me or is that sometimes one of the windiest rides available. I rode this morning and i felt like i had 30 mile an hour winds it was like riding up hill.

Is that the path that includes Joe Michael's Mile and runs under the Throgs Neck Bridge? We did that during the NYC Century and it was really really windy.

I did that during the NYC Century and once with a friend. Wasn't nearly as bad as the Rockaways!

Yea that's it, but when you guys did the century you were comming down towards long island, where the wind is behind you. When driving up you have the wind resistance cause by all the cars plus the wind of the water. But yea, Air, its not nearly as bad as the rockaways, I agree. It's just that, the cross island is my daily ride wish it was a little less windy.

I don't think so. We were coming back from Little Neck on our way to Astoria Park - headed west. I remember there was a strong headwind that make me feel like it was going to go on forever.

The Rockaways are pretty windy too. I don't think I'd want to do either on a daily basis.
