Road Bike Racing - worth upgrade 06 TCR to 07 Scott CR1?

I have a 105 equipped Giant TCR, which I think is a great bike, pretty snappy and light but wondering about moving up to an ultegra equipped cr1, which may be a little stiffer as well. Would I notice any difference with the upgrade in components? I use it for crits, occasional RR and generally training rides under three hours, thanks.

I haven't ridden either one, but the geometry and components are more than good enough for what you are usung it for. Save the $3500 and use it to travel to more races.

I haven't ridden either one and I am sure the giant is fine for racing but if you got the money and want the bike then go for it, two bikes are better then one.

Yes you may notice a slight difference in components. I have an ultegra specialized s-works E5 and recently got a CAAD9 DA equipped bike. While I really can't notice a difference in the components, I can tell you that the CAAD9 is stiffer and a tad more responsive then the s-works E5

Or from people who have ridden one of them. I rode the CR1. Very impressive, very light, but most importantly, WAAAYYYYY cooler than those stubby looking sawed-off 'this came straight from friggin Taiwan' looking Giants.

And if that insults Giant owners, all you have to do is go out and replace it with a Cannondale.

Actually, I'd be riding a TCR if I could find one that fit me. The Cdale came in more sizes.

I do however know it would be worth upgrading from a aluminum Scott speedster to a cr1. The Scott's have an awesome frame that's innovative, light, got that cool, thick carbon weave, and all in all, I'd say a ways ahead of the competition. I've been logging plenty of miles on a friends campy record cr-1 sl, leaving him to suffer the abuse of my aluminum model, and love his carbon Scott to death, so much nicer to deal with as opposed to my current speedster on a daily basis. However when it comes to the races it performs just as good as a super-stiff full fledged race machine, however those are not easily enjoyed on a daily basis as the Scott is. It's an awesome all around package that does not just do everything you'd expect out of the bike, it exceeds it by far. I've got my order in for the cr-1 team, supplied with 105, however, I anticipate switching to campy shortly, thus going with the budget model. I can't wait!!!

Someday. Just don't tell my Speedster though, especially after it just helped me win last week. :D
