does it really matter? If you've got the power to push it, it shouldn't make a diff right? BTW mine is 32 lbs.

All of these ridiculously light road bikes...
Mine's a 31 pound hardtail. That will probably go down eventually, when (read if) I get more money. :D
My XC/trail/DH/DJ/FR bike weighs 40 or so lbs.
My Road bike weighs don't know just got it maybe 20lbs?

I think my road bike is 25lbs or so.
How much of a difference would I feel on the steeper climbs if the bike lost 5-10 pounds?
Big difference..Specially if your wheels lose weight.
I had the bike shop weigh my Serotta when I picked it up last year. I think they said 18.5 lbs. Of course, that doesn't count two filled water bottles, frame pump, seat pack w/tools, and last, but certainly not least, ME!

Me too... I think i may paint mine flat black, I'm not so sure about the green and purple colors. I'll start a new thread on that later... :)
What? Lame-o. Unless professionally done maybe.
Yum Yum..I rest my case for Klein's.

Klein Quantum Race = 17 lbs (58cm) *
Klein Attitude = 23 lbs (L) *

With only a mere $750 investment for a full Dura Ace kit I could get my Quantum down to 16.25 lbs or so. Of course the eventual divorce from spending "One more goddamn penny" on my bike would be a problem...

If your going to drop upwards of three grand for an unusual paint job, buy a Colnago. Not only do you get spectacular paint, but a much more unique bicycle that come in more flavors than simply 'Crack'nfail Aluminum-stiff'.

I was talking to some brother in laws about my bike when another one{a ucla guy that now scouts for the twins** asks why i ride.I said to stay in shape and for fun.He say why do you care about a light bike because if its heavy your workout will be better.I said if its heavy i will run out of gas faster and not ride as far and he said that not true.I didnt talk to him anymore that night.

All my bicycles are too heavy uphill and too light downhill. I'm sorta the same way, too heavy uphill, and still too heavy downhill.;)

My bike weighs 205 pounds when I'm riding it but considerably less otherwise. I don't really care what it weighs then.
Geez your getting a wee bit personal aren't ya?
OK fine; Right now my 84 Trek 660 with the taller Nitto and heavier stem, heavier Brooks seat, heavier Armadillo tires, and the seat bag (loaded), pump and water cages installed it weighs 25pounds.
When I use to race it almost 20 years ago with lighter stuff it weighed 20 lbs.
I think if I equipped it with the lighter carbon parts now available I could get it down to maybe 17lb range but definitely in the 18lb range.
You asked!
