DC Critical Mass question

I am thinking about heading out to the next Critical Mass in DC and just wanted to confirm something if possible -- the DC CM website (cm-dc.mahost.org) says the gathering happens the FIRST Friday of every month; I am just a little bit confused because from what I've heard, CM events in other cities are typically on the LAST Friday of the month.

Has anybody been to a recent DC CM who can vouch that it is indeed at the beginning of the month?

Each place has a different time (there's one in Brooklyn that is not the last Friday either). Not all of them are on Fridays so it's a good possibility it's the first Friday.

Thanks; I also found a listserv for the DC CM which also says first Friday, so all indicators now look favorable :D
