Well holy ****. In the last week I tore my AC joint, my bike got stolen, I got $1500 in taxes back and I bought a pake frame and some sweet parts to slap on it. Looks like this so far:

Pake track frame
Phil Wood Hubs, high-flange, flip-flop fix/free
Sugino 75 crankset
Velocity Arrowhead rims
Nitto chopped bullhorn handlebars
Brooks pro saddle
stock everything else until I save up some more. Gotta save some of those tax dollars for tattoos too! I just found out that my friend can get me everything at wholesale, so now I might add more. Suggestions?

Everything is in black except for the rims which are orange.

MY QUESTION IS:
does anyone have any suggestions for this enormous ride in terms of:
1) Routes to take
2) wheels and other parts to get??

THANKS A BUNDLE this beast will be built up soon.

++Gavin

I've tried 23mm and 38mm tires in brooklyn. 23mm is a bad idea. No matter how carefull you are you'll be ridding over broken glass often. On 38mm I haven't got any flats this year. Work great at about 60psi. More comfortable too.

NYC bike map is a great place to look for good roads for biking. I guess it depends from where in bushwick to where in westchester, but there are plenty of bike path or little used road options.

I ran Vittoria Rubbino Pros 700/23 for about a year on my fixie with no problems at all. Finally they just wore thin and had to replace them. Went with the Armadillos. They do feel heavier and maybe less zippy, but maybe worth it if I don't flat out too much.

Route from Bushwick to Westchester? You got me stumped. You'll have to consult a NYC bike map.
