3 laps of Reagan Park/ Whatever Fawn Park. The new layout is pretty tricky in some spots. Like super-tight uphill turns. I lost my bike a couple of times because I had to turn my bars so much.

I'm back to the state of mind where I think I need a new MTB rig again.

22 miles after a week off (pulled tendon?). No sprinting or standing and I tried to keep the cadence up, had no issues. The new route was nice, no kids or morons, mostly just other people on bikes :)

Gary , Think I was just wore out, felt like I was dragging a brick and no matter how many times I checked the bike (nothing wrong with it), the final conclusion was it was me not it! Take the next few days off and start over!

BTW, just to let ya know, Me and Tina have signed up to do the six gap/ three gap in Dohlonega, Georgia on sept. 27th she's doing the 50 and I'm doing the 100. Got a nice cabin at Forrest hills resort just outside of town. Oh God what have I done!!!! LOL

8/13 - 40 miles
Rode along Fox River Trail from St. Charles to North Aurora. Trail is closed north of Jon Duerr FP. You really have to try hard to get around the barricades there so I wound up going left and came back using the Silver Glen and Randall Rd. trails back into St. Charles. Took a few pics of the trail closure which i may put on here later. Back home and to work tomorrow.

Pedal to the Point- 76.5 miles @ 5:06 of ride time, 15 MPH avg... Great ride OTHER than the umpteen thousand idiots on bikes.

I doubt that I ever do this again: I only rode today as I have stuff going on tomorrow. I am pretty easy going, but there were so many unsafe riders around me I just hauled ass to get done for the day. Really, 3 abreast- people calling "car back"- "on your left" or whatever- just that there were tons of unsafe riders... Ipods in most peoples ears??? I am not a saftey nut and dislike tons of rules but common sense was lacking all over.

Great route, Great support staff, decent rest stops. Just lots of idiots...

Toook couple days off and wow what a difference, feeling great again! So 8/13 off 8/14 off, 8/15 AM ride 26 miles, 8/15 pm ride 42 miles for 68 total.

Passage as I posted to another thread earlier about the Pedal to the Point, I would never ride that ride. It is a poor example of cycling and does more to harm it than it does to help it! The ride is down ridght dangerous.

Hi All...Finally I did it, been working up to this for a couple weeks, I did 85 mile round trip!! And I feel good after the ride, no (major) pain. I drank well on the ride and feel great.
Started out at the North branch trail, Devon & Milwaukee, followed it north. Fell in w/ 4 good guys heading to Milwaukee for Irish fest, helped me ALOT. Took my time heading back, the wind was hard.
Avg like 16 mph up there, 12 back

Hey McCune, you ride that alot ? I'm ususally out on the weekend, usually Sat/Sun about 9 am or so, but every once in a while sneak out durring the week

40 hot, windy, humid hilly miles today with my Meetup group (ride left from my house). Maybe not hilly for some people, but 2100+ feet of climbing in 40 miles is pretty good around here.

40 miles on the Serotta.

25 miles of hard riding on the Giant.

I diagnosed my loud banging problem; my Look Keo Carbon pedal's bearings were loose. I've got my old '06 on the right and the '09 on the left. until I can get a 12 point 18mm closed end wrench.

Not much time to ride lately, presently working 65 hrs a week.
Been keeping the bike at work so I can squeeze in ~15 miles after work.

8/15, 31 miles.
Road from work (Elmhurst) to my sisters in Willow Springs.
I love riding in the Willow Springs / Burr Ridge area.
Plenty of rolling hills, nice roads / shoulders, and little traffic.
If anyone happens to find a lung on German Church Road, it's mine.

8/16, 35 miles.
Had planned on 60 on the roads west of Joliet. I just couldn't bring myself to battle the +20 mph
winds on the open roads. Ended up doing 2 laps on the Rock Run / Joliet Junction path.

No ride today, rain.

Cheers.

8/19 40 miles on an easy ride that turned into anything but an easy ride. So momof4 what got into you tonight? Me and gary are sitting behing you and Tina and watching as our pace as it went from 17 to 18 to 20 then 21 then 22, the poor devils in the back must have been dying. Then Gary throws in a couple sign sprints just to punish everyone a little more. Bet your glad we left the group early to get home!! LOL Nice ride though.

momof4 led a very nice ride this evening. Dan was right. It was supposed to be a pretty moderate 17-18mph ride and I promised myself that no matter what I would go no faster than the speed the group set. Right out of the gate our ride leader (momof4) is setting the pace at 21+ :) Good job Colleen :thumb:
Our group of 14 or so shredded down to 5 or 6 pretty quick. Everyone rode really well and a fun time was had by all.

4.5 miles down the Fred Meijer Heartland Trail. The distance is a rough estimate, but I think it's fairly accurate. I had jelly legs afterwards. It's only my second time on a bike in over 6 years.

I talked to the team Greg will be riding for next year, and they said they liked me but want the number 2 next to 'cat' on my license first.
